Custom Reupholstery
Revitalizing Furniture of Any Age
Reupholstery often involves stripping older pieces down to varying levels including all the way to the frame before being built back up and covered with fresh fabric. It's a labor-intensive process, but the results can be stunning. Beyond just fabric; foam padding, batting, and other materials inside may need replacement as well.
Not every piece of furniture is a good candidate for reupholstery, but please reach out with any questions you may have. The goal here is two fold: we work together to bring a vibrant new energy to your piece in a design you love - and we keep furniture out of a landfill.

Custom Reupholstery Pricing
Pricing custom projects varies with each piece. Reupholstery clients can expect a free one hour consult in addition to email consultation. A full discussion of work to be done and fabric choices takes place, followed by a preliminary quote.
For reupholstery quotes, you'll receive a 'low end estimate' and a 'high end estimate'. Since there are many unknowns inside furniture, it cannot be known until the teardown process which materials are able to be re-used or require replacing. The 'low end estimate' allows for tear down, known issues, and fabric replacement. The 'high end estimate' essentially accounts for the unknown. The consultation process allows for clients to become informed on their particular project in detail before they elect to move forward.
Upon agreement, the client pays 50% of the estimate at the time furniture is dropped off. No furniture is accepted without a deposit and scheduled drop off date. Following drop off a review is done of the piece to include measurements and assessment for any repairs etc. and a final quote is prepared for the client to review, sign and return. Work will only move forward when the client has signed off on the final quote and paid 50% of the estimate.
Expect the Unexpected
A friend asked me to reupholster her dining chairs noting that they were extremely uncomfortable to sit in for a leisurely dinner, which her family is fond of.
When I tore down the first chair I laughed and contacted her to share that the padding in the (very old) chairs were actually just grass. Like… from your lawn style grass. It was quite a shock for us both!

Working with Tiff was such a joy! Her creative process and intuition for what a piece needs is spot on. I felt so excited and comfortable with our chair because I know her work has integrity in the details. She considered small upgrades like silk wrapping for a water resistance that I never would have known of. I love our chair more than I expected and it's become a favorite piece in our home. She's a true expert at this craft and I recommend her to friends for any sewing needs.
